How this estimate works

Annual home use = (monthly bill minus fixed charges) × 12 ÷ electricity rate. Solar production = system kW × annual yield. Self-used solar = the lower of production × self-use percentage or annual home use. Remaining production is exported.

Savings = self-used solar × electricity rate + usable export credits. Export credits are capped at remaining annual energy charges; fixed charges remain. This simplified annual model does not calculate hourly usage, monthly credit limits, rollover or cash payouts.

Simple payback = installed cash price ÷ first-year bill savings. Financing, incentives, maintenance, degradation, rate changes, taxes and battery costs are excluded. Verify production using a site assessment or PVWatts, and confirm billing terms with your electricity provider. This demo is not connected to PVWatts.
